Wearable Art

Nature and the great outdoors are inspirations in my artistic work. My goal was to create a piece of wearable art similar to the thread painted art pieces that I sell. I painted, in my favourite hues, a river scene complete with an island and majestic trees overlooking it’s banks. I added texture with free motion embroidery and quilting and then constructed the garment. It won Honourable Mention in Wearable Art at the 2005 Canadian Quilters’ Association/Association canadienne de la courtepointe National Juried Show.
