I had created the three dimensional thread appliqué blue  jay using free motion embroidery. He set in my sewing room greeting me each time I entered for about a year while I tried to decide what I would create with him. One day it was as though he spoke to me and said he wanted to be put on a brilliant blue background and to be surrounded by golden leaves. Hence, the name, He Speaks, I Listen.
