There is an article in the Spring 2020 edition of the Canadian Quilter entitled Teaching Patchwork in the UK. Three Canadians, Rose Parr, myself and Bernadette Kent share our experiences of teaching at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK.
During the SAQA ( Studio Art Quilting Association) conference which is being held in Toronto Ontario March 19-21, 2020 there will be a Spotlight auction. Below is the piece I have contributed. I sun printed birch leaves on pebeo setaolor painted fabric and quilted with holographic threads. Because it reminded me of a frosty morning, I entitled it In the Frost.
The Fredericton Guild of Fibre Artists and the Embroiderers’ Guild of Fredericton held the official opening of their exhibition Fibre Expressions 2019 at Government House, 51 Woodstock Road Fredericton NB on November 8 with Lieutenant Governor, Brenda Murphy providing opening remarks. The exhibition runs until January 8, 2020 and is open Monday to Friday 10-4 pm.
I was the co-ordinator of the exhibition.
My niece, Alana Simpson, kindly took the photo of me with my thread painting entitled Curry Mountain.
In addition to being part of the World Wide Whispers quilt exhibition with my piece Looking In, Looking Out at Festival of Quilts I will be twice delivering a 1 hour demonstration on Using Inktense Pencils to Create Appliqués. The demonstrations are at 1300 on August 1 and August 3.

Yesterday I finished my spotlight auction piece. I had sun printed a piece using metallic paints in blue and copper. I used metallic threads in copper and blue to quilt the leaves .
FAN will be holding a craft sale Saturday December 15, 2018 at Knights of Columbus building 170 Regent Street (near Boyce Market) from 9 am-2:30 pm.
There will be weaving, felting, thread paintings, eco printing and much more. I will have thread paintings, bookmarks, cards etc.
There will be an official opening at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, 732 Charlotte Street, Fredericton NB Canada on Friday Aug. 3 from 5-7 pm . There will be wood fired pizza and refreshments. All are invited.
I was very pleased to hear that both my entries Transitions I and Transitions II have been accepted into the SAQA Atlantic show Transitions. The exhibition opens March 28, 2018 at the Craig Gallery in Dartmouth Nova Scotia Canada and will travel to Yarmouth Art Gallery Aug 2- Sept.28, 2018, Inverness Centre for Arts Oct 5- Oct 30, 2018 and Saint John Art Centre Jan 11-March 9, 2019.
