During the SAQA ( Studio Art Quilting Association) conference which is being held in Toronto Ontario March 19-21, 2020 there will be a Spotlight auction. Below is the piece I have contributed. I sun printed birch leaves on pebeo setaolor painted fabric and quilted with holographic threads. Because it reminded me of a frosty morning, I entitled it In the Frost.
FAN ( Fibre arts Network) of which I am a member, will host its second Christmas Market at the Knights of Columbus building, 170 Regent St, Fredericton, NB .
I will be attending with thread paintings, large and small, original sun printed bookmarks, and cards. Other FAN members will have weaving, felting, rug hooking, clothing and more.
Learn to paint using Pebeo setacolor fabric paints on cotton. Special effects techniques such as sun printing and using salt will be explored. Create your own fabric for a special landscape, shaded fabric for a flower you wish to appliqué, yardage for a special sky or backgrounds for an embroidery. You will learn how to mix colours and apply the paints. A demonstration using Derwent Inktense pencils will also be given. Comprehensive notes provided.
Yesterday I finished my spotlight auction piece. I had sun printed a piece using metallic paints in blue and copper. I used metallic threads in copper and blue to quilt the leaves .
