Explore the art of free motion embroidery, mastering the use of your own zigzag sewing machine and a darning foot . You will learn to make grasses, leaves, flower, weeds, trees and more. You can spend the day perfecting your free motion stitches or create your own work of art. Extensive notes will be provided covering composition, depth, perspective and the use of colour.
Using free motion embroidery on your regular zigzag sewing machine you will create a beautiful goldfinch totally from thread. Once the bird is created, it will be cut out and appliqued onto your background fabric . Once learned the method can be used to create other birds, animals and flowers . These can be used for wall pieces, bags, wearable art etc. Extensive notes will be provided. This class takes place in my home studio at 683 Route 104 Burtts Corner on Sat. Oct 7 from 10-4. Complete a sampler as you learn to make grasses, leaves, flowers, weeds, trees, etc. For those who have some experience or who have taken the course before, you can work independently on your chosen project while receiving individual attention. The Oct. 23 Thread Painting class scheduled for the Andrew and Laura McCain Gallery in Florenceville- Bristol NB was postponed because of the covid 19 circuit breaker in that part of the district. It has been rescheduled to April 24, 2022.
